Mass Effect facial issues allegedly due to facial scanning

Mass Effect Andromeda’s issue with dodgy facial animations may have been the result of the game’s project managers deciding to use facial scanning technology to create human characters as opposed to sculpting and rendering the faces in-house.

According to a video posted by Liam Robertson (check it out below), members of Mass Effect Andromeda’s project management team decided to use CyberScan, a 3D facial scanning program, to create facial animations, which led to the facial anomalies seen in countless YouTube videos and memes.
