Three Ireland have changed their name policy to include fadas
Caoimhe Ní Chathail brought the issue to the internet at large’s attention last month when she tweeted Three’s Customer Care saying the website wouldn’t accept her name as it contained a fada.
The story went viral with many annoyed at Three’s suggestion that she should try using the English version of her name.
And giving out on the internet worked - as a result of Caoimhe bringing it to their attention (and going viral) Three Ireland have come up with a solution that will allow all the Sinéads, Seáns and Ni Mhurchús of Ireland to input their names correctly.
Three Ireland sent her the following email yesterday.
A great day for the parish, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Hi Caoimhe, we’re delighted we’ve been able to rectify this issue. Be sure to let us know if you need anything else. Jack

Three have said they were only delighted to have it fixed and have been speaking in Irish all over the place ever since they let Caoinhe know.
