Intel wants headphones to be USB-C

The tech giant is interested in making the move from regular headphone jacks to ports using the USB-C configuration. It would be a major shift in the industry but also one that takes users from an analogue world into a digital future.

USB-C doesn't just carry audio info, it's also capable of providing power and data at the same time. So headphone makers could consider more applications which require power from the dedicated connection with your phone or computer.
