AMC has changed its mind about a proposed policy that would allow cinema goers to use their phones while watching certain films.

Earlier this week, AMC Entertainment's CEO Adam Aron said that the company was considering allowing people to use their smartphones during screenings. This didn't sit well with many people, and he has since said that this is an idea that has been "relegated to the cutting room floor."

In a statement released, Aron wrote, "There will be no texting allowed in any of the auditoriums at AMC Theaters. Not today, not tomorrow, and not in the foreseeable future."
