Running out of iPhone storage? Trick your phone to free up space

If you’re starting to run out of iPhone storage space, there’s a pretty simple trick to free up some memory on your device.

Redditor eavesdroppingyou posted the tip, which is quick and painless to do. Best of all, it doesn’t involve making difficult decisions as to what you should delete.

To trick your iPhone, first check how much storage space you have available. This trick is for those who have very little storage space, ideally less than 1GB. Then open up iTunes and attempt to rent a long movie in HD; something like Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is recommended.

When a pop-up appears to tell you that you can’t download the movie, hit Settings. Then just navigate to your storage space and it should have increased. It’s like magic!

You can do this trick a couple of times, but keep an eye on your free space or you could end up renting a movie.
