WhatsApp adds formatting options so you can add emphasis

A WhatsApp update adds a range of text formatting options, so you can emphasise certain points in your messages. You can add bold, italics, and strikethrough to text, and it’s not too difficult to do.

You’ll need to use the associated symbol before and after the text that you wish to format.

• To bold: Write words between asterisks – e.g. Add asterisks *like this*
• To italicise: Write words between underscores – e.g. Add underscores _like this_
• To strikethrough: Write words between tildes – e.g. Add tildes ~like this~
