Working Life: Terry Barrett, Manager, Boys Residential Centre

9am

I arrive for work in Cork City, although my start could be earlier if I am heading to West Cork or Kerry to meet with members of various social work departments. Staff update me on the previous night’s events and I tackle any immediate issues concerning the young people and staff. I then check emails and correspondence. I may have to meet social worker case management teams to review a young person’s placement or to discuss a potential new admission.
