After a promising opening, Isaac Clarke’s first, nightmarish adventure quickly lost its verve.

In Dead Space 2 (360; RRP €59.99), such problems are a thing of the past — if only the same could be said for Isaac. Our heroic engineer, who fought his way through gaming’s equivalent of Alien in the first game, is suffering from an extreme form of dementia in the sequel, brought on by his contact with the otherworldly Necromorphs.
