Legendary first lady of Irish food and long-time Irish Examiner columnist Darina Allen has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Munster Technological University.

The accolade, presented on Friday at MTU Arena on the Bishopstown campus as part of the university’s week-long graduation celebrations, was intended to recognise Allen as one of the most influential voices in food, sustainability, and education.
