Restaurant Review: L’Atitude 51, 1 Union Quay, Cork city

I must confess, when L’Atitude 51 first opened in 2012, I thought it would soon become another swiftly-forgotten entry on the endless rollcall of hospitality failures. 

That I donned the black skullcap of condemnation before ever entering the place may reek of arrogance on my part but, over time, I’ve developed an uncannily prescient and too often accurate nose for this type of thing.

Or, perhaps, I simply couldn’t get my head around the notion that the late, greatly lamented Lobby Bar, a nationally-renowned music venue, could wind up as a ‘wine bar’ (a true pejorative for any veteran of 1980’s yuppie London, such as myself).
