Beer of the week: O’Haras ‘Opsession IPA

I’m pleased to see a steady increase in the number of lighter ‘session’ style beers from our better craft beer producers, crisp fresh flavours are often key, abv is usually around 4% and cans seem to be the vessel of choice.

Beer of the week: O’Haras ‘Opsession IPA

O’Haras ‘Opsession IPA, 4% abv;, 330ml — €2.75

Stockists: O’Briens, Matsons, No 21,Selected Carry-Out (Bandon Road, Carrigaline), McHughs, Independents.

‘Opsession is made with Azacca and El Dorado hops I’m told and will be particularly suited to 2016’s Indian summer (lets hope I don’t jinx it).

This has a tropical and citrus character, biscuit touches and good lemon and orange peel bitterness on the middle palate and finish.

Thanks to some dry-hopping the hop-character lingers so this will match Thai curries and Asian food.
