Restaurant review: Canteen, Co Limerick

Down through the years, whether at home or abroad, I have always taken the ‘local temperature’, in a manner of speaking, by making a trip to a native barber.

As the aforementioned tonsorial artist oxymoronically attempts to halt the receding tide with a pair of scissors, I in return receive the lie of the land along with a bill that inflates ever upwards with the passing of each year and every golden curl.

Today, it being election season, our talk inevitably turns to political affairs, in particular, the Jabberwocky of ‘The Recovery’ and ‘Fiscal Space’.
