The Menu shall be necking the smart pills and fine tuning his chin-stroke as he trains for the Fourth Annual Great Irish Foodie Quiz (Mar 7 @7.30pm, The Circle Club, Grand Canal Theatre, Dublin/ food, full bar available). Entry is €100 per team of four (www.mycharity.ie/event/greatirishfoodquiz2013), all proceeds going to a charity very dear to The Menu’s heart, Down’s Syndrome Ireland and The Menu is already preoccupied with plans to smuggle in his gargantuan Larousse Gastronomique. What, says, you, The Menu, a blaggard and cheat? Well, with all manner of magnificent prizes on offer, including Michelin-starred meals and classes (Martijn Kajuiter, Ross Lewis, Kevin Thornton) and overnight stays in some of Ireland’s finest hotels, The Menu is very much in favour of dining now and frying or even sautéing in hell later.
