This is probably the origin of this delicate dish. It is very good if you are feeling poorly or in need of comfort.

2 rabbits, jointed 50g (2oz) bacon rasher, chopped 2 onions, chopped mace or nutmeg 1.2 litres (2 pints) whole milk salt and pepper
