€15k/acre expected at auction for 44-acre Wicklow farm
The selling agent said the 44-acre farm is 'ideally located in what is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most scenic locations'.
Coming up for auction on Tuesday, February 24, is a 44-acre farm close to the picturesque village of Avoca in County Wicklow.
The auction takes place at the Arklow Bay Hotel, with a simultaneous online auction. It will be conducted by Gorey-based auctioneers Quinn Property.
“This is an exceptional piece of land,” says selling agent David Quinn of the farm which is in the townland of Knockanree, 1.5km from Avoca. “And it’s ideally located in what is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most scenic locations.”
This is where the famous series was filmed, showcasing some of Ireland’s finest scenery and charming small-town life and the lands, it seems, are also endowed with alluring qualities.

“They benefit from good road frontage and comprise free-draining soils of excellent quality,” says David, “making them ideally suited to grassland or tillage use.
"The majority of the holding is currently laid out in grass, with a smaller portion under tillage and an acre of forestry.”
There aren’t any premiums attached to the small forestry plantation, which was initiated in 1976.
The property also features some outbuildings. These include a three-span shed with a lean-to structure, as well as an adjoining yard.
The price guide of €15,000/acre is a realistic one for what’s on offer in this attractive piece of the Garden County.
