The traditional five-bed farmhouse may qualify for the Vacant Property Grant.

Clonakilty-based auctioneers Hodnett Forde Property Services is offering another substantial piece of land from the fertile, much-coveted eastern end of West Cork.

The areas all around Kinsale and Bandon has become a strong hotspot in the Munster farmland market in the last decade, with prices regularly hitting high levels.

The latest offering from this rich zone is from near the twin villages of Enniskeane and Ballineen and is sure to attract a good deal of attention — from those seeking additional acreage to those with a grá for the country life.

The property extends to 51 acres in total. It’s all in one block in the townland of Keelnacronagh, 2.5km north of Enniskeane, just east of the road between Enniskeane and the village of Coppeen.

“This is an executor sale,” says selling agent John Hodnett. “We can sell the property in two lots: the house with 37 acres in Lot 1 or the remaining 14 acres in Lot 2.

“The lands have been under lease for a considerable period of time and are under pasture. They’re securely fenced on all sides and have the benefit of a considerable amount of road frontage in Lot 2. Access to Lot 1 is via an untarred lane off a secondary public road.”

The residence is a traditional home with five bedrooms and two reception rooms, which may qualify for the Vacant Property Grant.

The price expectation is €650,000 — €700,000 (€12,700-€13,700/acre and there are already offers on the table.
