The 43-acre farm at Barnagarrane, Dromcolligher, Co. Limerick.

For sale jointly with GVM Auctioneers and Dromcolliher-based auctioneer Colman O’Kelly, a 43-acre parcel of Golden Vale land is new to the market near the village of Dromcolliher in southwest Limerick.

The property at Barnagarrane is close to the border with county Cork and is 3km west of Dromcolliher village, 3km from Broadford and 20km west of Charleville, Co. Cork.

With roughly half of the property under forestry, the value of the overall holding is limited somewhat, with the rest being comprised of good quality lands.

“The rest of the land is very good,” says joint selling agent Richard Ryan of GVM Auctioneers.

There is enough quantity of permanent pasture (21 acres) to draw the interest of many of the progressive dairy farmers in the area.

There are a number of outbuildings on the property which, although dated, are of some use to the next owner.

“There has been a good degree of interest in the farm so far,” says Richard, “and we’ve had an offer on it… it’s a very nice property. There’s a nice stretch of road frontage on it, it’s in a good area and it has been priced well and reasonably.”

The price guide on the farm is €350,000. At €8,000 per acre, it’s as tempting a piece of Golden Vale land as one will find these days, with enough quantity of permanent pasture (21 acres) to draw the interest of many of the progressive dairy farmers in the area.
