Having recently failed to sell at online public auction, a 37-acre high-quality stud farm is currently on the market and open to offers, according to selling agent John Keane of Keane Auctioneers in Wexford town.
The property in question is Fort Mountain Stud. In the townland of Cools, approximately 9km east of Wexford town. It is renowned, both as a stud farm and as a popular equestrian/livery venue, having hosted numerous national and international events.
Apart from the 71 quality acres of grassland, there are 31 stables housed in a number of spacious barns, a hay shed, lunging arena, a 1,000m² indoor riding arena, two well-equipped tack rooms, an all-weather show-jumping area and a spacious carpark.
In addition, there is a quality home to complete a unique overall package, boasting superb views over Mount Leinster.
The property went for public auction in December but failed to reach the reserve of €1,700,000.
“The highest bid was €1,200,000,” says John. “The reserve was €1.7m, however we are open to other offers.Â
"It’s a very fine quality property — a short distance off the N25 about 15 minutes from the town centre.”
