Lamb prices up 10c/kg this week
Suppliers are reporting that 730-740c/kg is being paid for the lambs, with some reports of up to 750c/kg going for larger numbers of well-fleshed lambs.
There is more "buzz" around the trade for lambs this week, both at the processing plants and the live sales at the marts, as the supply of finished lambs tightens.
The quoted factory prices for lambs have increased by at least 10c/kg – but more is being paid – at the marts, the lambs have sold for up to €200/head.
