The factories are trying to shave around 5c/kg off their quotes for the week and recovering some of the improvement that they conceded over recent weeks.

There is a bit more pressure coming to bear on the beef prices at the factories this week as processors try their hand at pulling their quotes.

The supply of cattle to the plants is increasing week-on-week, and the processors know that the season of peak supply is just around the corner when the finishers off grass will be moving stock, and those with yard facilities will have to decide between selling and housing.
