A shared concern about biodiversity has resulted in two national parks - one in Ireland and other in the United States - coming together to share expertise.

Glacier National Park, in northwestern Montana, on the Canada–United States border, and Killarney National Park in Kerry, have agreed to become 'Sister Parks'. The parks in different jurisdictions nearly 6,700 km apart are distinct in terms of size and climate.
