Minister of State Malcolm Noonan said Ireland's implementation of nature restoration will be designed in partnership with all stakeholders over the next two years.

The wide gulf in expectations of the EU's Nature Restoration Law was reflected in some of the recent Dáil statements on the regulation after it passed its final hurdle in the European Parliament.

While Green Party TDs welcomed it as a historic breakthrough, former farmers' leader and now Fianna Fail TD Jackie Cahill said the litmus test of nature restoration would be if the capital value of farmland affected by the law can be maintained.
