99.9% compliance rate found through residue testing of food-producing species
The National Residue Control Plan, which is one element of the department’s overall National Control Plan, focuses on food of animal origin.
The results of testing carried out under the National Residue Control Plan in 2022 show an overall rate of compliance of 99.9%.Â
This plan involves testing for banned substances, approved veterinary medicines, approved animal feed additives, and environmental contaminants.
