'Major change' to Fair Deal welcomed by farmers

Minister for Mental Health and Older People Mary Butler announced the plans at the National Ploughing Championships. 

The changes will broaden the definition of who could act as the family successor under the three-year cap. 

Plans to amend the Nursing Homes Support Scheme, commonly known as Fair Deal, have been welcomed by farmers.
