With Bord na Móna to cease harvesting peat for electricity generation, by 2030, some of the company’s machinery is coming on the market.

More than 200 lots will be on offer in an online live auction on Wednesday, July 1.

Included are more than 90 tractors, plus excavators, Caterpillar-tracked bulldozers, Gardiner four-cylinder engines, buckets, Ford and Citroen panel vans, tyres, and various equipment and plant parts.

This Bord Na Móna auction of surplus machinery from the company’s Derrygreenagh site in Co Offaly will be managed by Wilsons Auctions.

Viewings will be conducted with strict social distancing procedures in place and by appointment only, Thursday, June 25; Friday, June 26; Monday, June 29; and Tuesday, June 30, from 10am to 4pm, with one-hour time slots limited to two people per viewing.

All lots can be viewed online, and live tractor or machinery video walk-arounds are available on request for registered bidders.

Interested bidders can register for online bidding through the Wilsons Auctions website, up to 24 hours before the auction starts.

Originally scheduled for March, the auction was postponed prior to the Covid-19 lockdown.
