Grass course attracts overseas experts

Agri professionals from across the world are attending a five-day grassland training course being hosted this week by Teagasc Ballyhaise Agricultural College, Co Cavan.

The course is being delivered as part of the Teagasc ConnectEd programme. It will equip participants, who have travelled from Finland, Lithuania, Wales, England, and Northern Ireland, with the knowledge and skills required to grow grass sustainably.

Mark Gibson, Teagasc ConnectEd programme director, said: “Ireland is world renowned for its highly efficient and sustainable grassland production systems. We have gathered Teagasc specialists, advisors, teachers and research scientists to provide participants with exclusive insights into Ireland’s grassland success story.

“This course is part of our wider strategy to expand education programmes for industry professionals nationally and internationally.”

The Professional Certificate in Grassland Production has been developed to meet the needs of working professionals and recent graduates operating in grassland management.
