Irish second for RDP drawdown

Ireland is second in drawing down rural development (RDP) programme funds — with only Finland drawing down more, stated Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine assistant secretary general Colm Hayes.

He told the joint Oireachtas committees on agriculture and rural and community development last week that Ireland’s drawdown of EU funds at 55% is well above the EU average for other member states, which is just over 36%.

“Our reputation in Europe over many years is to leave no euro behind, and I am very confident this will continue under the current RDP,” remarked Mr Hayes.
