Four extra clinics for help with BPS applications online
Four additional one-to-one clinics to help farmers make Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applications online are being arranged, including one in Munster.
In 2018, all BPS and transfer of entitlement applications must be made online, and the deadline for the receipt of applications is Tuesday, May 15.
Farmers attending a BPS online clinic should register on the www.agfood.ie website.
If they cannot do this, they should bring their personal public services number (PPSN) with them to a clinic.
If registered on the agfood.ie website, they should bring along the seven-digit personal access code (PAC) and login details (username and password) they set up when registering.
Farmers attending a clinic should also bring their 2018 BPS Pack (land summary and maps), and a valid form of photo ID.
The new clinic in Munster is at the Great National South Court Hotel, Raheen Roundabout, Raheen, Limerick, on Wednesday, May 9 at 9am to 3pm.
The last of the previously announced clinics in Munster takes place today at the Horse and Jockey Hotel, near Thurles, Co Tipperary, at 4pm–7.30pm.
Earlier this week, when announcing the additional clinics, Agriculture Minister Michael Creed said more than 75,000 farmers had already applied online, and many had availed of the opportunity at clinics to sit down with a member of staff from his Department, and make their online application on the spot.
“I would now urge any farmer who has not yet made their application to do so at the earliest opportunity.”
Staff are also available in the Department’s Portlaoise offices to help farmers make their applications online.
For assistance on registering for www.agfood.ie as a first step in making an online application, farmers can contact the AgFood Registration Helpdesk on 0761 064424. They can also contact this phone number if they need assistance to register an agricultural consultant or Teagasc adviser to apply on their behalf.
Applicants should note that registering for www.agfood.ie is the first step, before they can complete their applications. Those who have not yet registered should thus do this as soon as possible.
Help videos are available on the www.agriculture.gov.ie website to guide farmers through the application process.
