There were three Irish outright award winners at last week’s International Cheese Awards at Nantwich in Cheshire, England, which attracted a record entry of 5,685 cheeses from over 50 countries, writes Stephen Cadogan.

The Irish best in show winners were Carbery for the champion convenience cheese; Dairygold for the best overseas cheddar creamery block; and Glanbia for best extra mature cheddar.
