Exhibitors’ County Championship winners best in show and best in Co Cork
Two of the winners at last week’s Carbery Show in Skibbereen can claim they have the best beef bull and the best yearling gelding or filly in Co Cork,
.John Cahalane from nearby Castlehaven showed the winner of the Cork County Beef Bull Championship Final.
Qualifiers from the Bandon, Midleton, Cork, Charleville, Clonakilty, Barryroe, Dunmanway, Ballyvourney and Carbery shows, were eligible for the final.
But they all had to give best to Forenaught Ice, which also won his class and the overall championship in the Belgian Blue section of the show.
The Cork County Yearling Championship was also decided at Skibbereen, between qualifiers from the Leap, Bandon, Midleton, Belgooly, Clonakilty, Cork, Charleville, Dunmanway, Barryroe, Ballyvourney and Carbery shows.
The winner of this prestigious title was the aptly named Secret Weapon, shown by John Tyner, Kinsale.
