Leitrim to welcome hundreds to Macra na Feirme AGM

On Saturday, hundreds of young people will descend on Co Leitrim for the Macra na Feirme AGM.
Delegates from the 31 Macra regions and counties will attend the meeting at The Lough Allen Hotel in Drumshanbo, where 12 new national council representatives will take up their roles.
James Healy will succeed Seán Finan as Macra na Feirme president and Sharon Corcoran, Cara O’Mahony, and Tom O’Donoghue will take up office as Macra na Feirme vice-presidents.
The AGM is being hosted by Leitrim Macra and jointly sponsored by Aurivo and Lakeland Co-op.
The AGM will kick off with a review of Macra over the past year.
Issues arising will then be discussed and motions brought before delegates will be debated to ensure a strong and vibrant start to the new Macra year.
At the end of the formal proceedings, delegates, along with members from clubs all over the country, will be treated to one of Macra’s premier contests as the final of the National Senior Debating competition will take place at 7pm.
Ramor Macra from Cavan and Freemount Macra from Avondhu, Co Cork, will be battling it out on the night.
There will also be a gala banquet at 8pm with a sit-down dinner and live entertainment from Ruaile Buaile followed by a DJ.
