Another JCB telescopic technology innovation
Although aimed primarily at the construction industry, the JCB Teleskid will no doubt find plenty uses on farms.
It is the world’s first skid steer and compact track loader with a telescopic boom.
It can reach 60% further forward than any other skid steer on the market, and is the only skid steer that can dig below its chassis to an unmatched depth of around one metre.
And it can reach 8% higher than any other skid steer.
JCB pioneered telescopic technology with the launch nearly 40 years ago of the Loadall, which is the world’s biggest selling telescopic handler.
Nearly 25 years ago, JCB introduced the industry’s first single-arm or ‘Powerboom’ skid steer, taking safety to new levels.
Now the company has taken innovation a stage further.
The JCB Teleskid has a forward reach of 2.4m, 60% better than the nearest competitive machine.
With a lift height of 4m, it can reach 8% higher than any other skid steer.
According to Tim Burnhope, chief innovation and growth officer at JCB, the Teleskid can do the work of four machines — a telescopic handler, masted forklift, compact loader and a skid steer.
A unique bucket-positioning levelling system allows the bucket level to be set and maintained throughout the boom’s range of movement.
The JCB Teleskid will feature a fully enclosed cab 33% larger than the industry average, and JCB’s software to allow control responsiveness and joystick sensitivity tailored to suit operator preferences.
A 74hp JCB Ecomax engine will provide the power.
Tracked and wheeled Teleskids will be sold in North America, while European markets will be offered the wheeled variant.
