The Department of Agriculture lifted the legal requirement to confine poultry as a precaution against bird flu last Tuesday, five days ahead of the original schedule.

Confinement was introduced on December 23, and is ended due to the reducing risk, with no bird flu in wild birds here for eight weeks.
