Macra news: Offaly man shown to have all the personality
Some 31 contestants from all over Ireland travelled to the Marble City for a fun-filled weekend, with Fergal Leonard from Offaly crowned the winner. In second place was Colm Clarke from Mayo and third was Fergus O’Rourke from Leitrim.
On Friday, the contestants were interviewed on stage by former Macra president Matt O’Keeffe before dancing the night away to music from Hot Fuss, followed by a DJ.
There was an early start on Saturday as the challenges got under way at 9.30am, after which each contestant was interviewed by judges Carmel Brennan, John Nolan and Mairéad Holohan.
In the evening, after a photocall with the sponsors, the informal banquet began with music from Deuces Wild, with the all-important announcement at midnight.
