Macra: Chance to focus on sustainable farming

Macra has introduced a new photography competition. The #OriginGreen #ItStartsHere initiative aims to raise awareness about the achievements and beauty of sustainable practices on Irish farms.

Macra national president, Seán Finan, encouraged farmers to “get snapping”, whether it be on a mobile phone or camera, to showcase Irish sustainable farming practices throughout the seasons, reminding them they can enter every month to be in with a chance to win a €200 gift voucher, with the overall winner at the end of the year receiving €1,000 .

“Many Irish farmers have been farming for generations in ways that respect the environment, respect the welfare of animals and are a vital part of the social fabric of their local communities,” said Mr Fínan.
