ICOS chief TJ Flanagan formally takes up new seat

TJ Flanagan has formally taken his seat as ICOS chief executive, the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society.

He was announced as CEO designate in January. He takes up the CEO role upon the retirement of Seamus O’Donohoe, who led ICOS with distinction as CEO and as company secretary.

TJ Flanagan brings 15 years’ experience working with ICOS and co-ops across a range of sectors.

Since 2007 he has served as secretary of the ICOS dairy expert committee, and has been responsible for the development of dairy policy within ICOS.

Prior to that he spent five years as secretary of the ICOS national marts committee.

He is currently the secretary of the National Dairies Association, and a member of the National Milk Agency as well as being a member of the technical advisory committee of the Bord Bia Sustainable Dairy Assurance Scheme.
