Teagasc outlines series of key dairy small savings

Small improvements can add up to big savings, Teagasc is advising in its ongoing dairy farm walks’ series.

Tom O’Dwyer, head of Teagasc’s dairy knowledge transfer programme, wants farmers to review their grass and winter feed budgeting, and cashflow management.

“The three key steps are: review performance, identify the problems, and review the options. Farmers need a realistic, detailed budget to measure performance, identify problem areas, and predict cashflow.”
