Carbery milk quality award winner announced
The Crowleys milk 150 cows with a 16-unit milking parlour on their 74-hectare farm.
They were also regional winners for Drinagh Co-op, to which they supply milk for processing in Carbery’s Ballineen facility.
Carbery chair, Dermot O’Leary, said: “Michael and his family have put a huge amount of work into their farm and the quality of milk they are producing is testament to that.”
Carbery’s other regional winners were Garrett and Catherine O’Neill, Bandon Co-op; Norman and Elma Perrott, Barryroe Co-op; and Robert and Shirley Shannon, Lisavaird Co-op.
The 2014 overall winners, Kieran and Catherine O’Sullivan, Goleen, were recognised nationally for farming the Best Quality Milk in Ireland when they won the overall 2015 NDC & Kerrygold Quality Milk Award.
A farm walk will held on their farm on Friday next, June 17.
