Food forum predicts valuable future role for drones

Drones can play a critical role in helping farmers with limited resources to produce more food to feed a growing world, a conference in the Netherlands was told.

Copa and Cogeca, the umbrella body for European farmers and co-ops, highlighted the hi-tech approach at the conference on ‘European Space Solutions: Bringing Space to Earth.’

It described the use of drones in agriculture as an additional agronomic tool that can help to enhance resource efficiency, productivity and profitability as well as ensure greater sustainability.
