Initially, the app will be available in UK, France, and Germany, before being rolled out to other EU countries this year.
The MF Explore App — downloadable for Apple tablet devices — provides comprehensive product information on the full range of MF equipment, including tractors, combines, balers, materials handling equipment, and hay and forage tools.
Users can browse model information in brochures, check out specifications, images, and videos, take a tour around the different features of the machines, and find their local MF dealer.
For customers looking for a mid-range to high horsepower tractor, the new configurator function enables them to build their individual machine.
Having chosen horsepower and transmission, selection of the ‘Build this Model’ button starts a detailed ‘Do It Yourself’ customising process. Users can select tractor package, and options and accessories, such as linkage, tyres, seats, and audio equipment, as well as telemetry-based machine management systems, and in-cab digital displays.
Their product specification, together with an order code and guide price, can be emailed to the local Massey Ferguson dealer, shared with others, or printed-off for further consideration and discussions with MF sales staff.
“MF Explore is extremely easy and intuitive to use and gives customers direct access to some of the key tools used by Massey Ferguson dealers and sales people to prepare machine specifications and quotations,” said James Walton, manager, digital marketing & creative services, Massey Ferguson Europe/Africa/Middle East.
“Once the app is downloaded onto an Apple tablet, the vast majority of its functionality operates off-line and so it is possible to use it anytime, anywhere, no matter how rural or remote the location.”
The configurator function currently covers all MF tractors from 85hp to 400hp. This function will be extended to more machines, including the full tractor line-up, combines, balers, and telehandlers.
