Pieta House, the suicide and self-harm crisis centre, received over €3,000 at Cork Federation’s AGM in Watergrasshill earlier this month.

Angela Horgan accepted the cheque for €3,853 from Cork guilds. She told the gathering that Pieta House engages with 50-54 people a week, aged from seven to 80.

She stressed the easy access to the centre — no GP letter is required and most people wait 24 hours for therapy, with the longest waiting time 72 hours.
