Cattle marts report: Friesian store bullocks break the €2/kg mark as buyers splash the cash on quality stock

Our first stop this week is in Macroom mart.

The mart on Saturday had a massive crowd in attendance, with a good sizeable amount of cattle on offer too. And, if I’m not mistaken, I couldn’t help but sense a whiff of confidence in the air.

Now I could be wrong, and I have been before, but I got the feeling on Saturday that if the weather was to improve the cattle trade would certainly follow suit.
