Colbourne takes on top Teagasc west coast role

David Colbourne has been appointed as Teagasc manager for the Galway-Clare advisory region, replacing Brendan Heneghan, who has retired after a successful career with the organisation.

Dr Tom Kelly, head of the Teagasc knowledge transfer directorate, said: “David’s research into understanding farm households and how they change and adapt in the face of economic and policy changes, perfectly equip him to lead the advisory service in Galway and Clare.”

Mr Colbourne joined Teagasc in 1996. He has been as a Teagasc dairy business and technology adviser, based in Ballyhaise and Bailieboro, Co Cavan, for the last 15 years.
