Nigeria has confirmed it wants to increase trade with Ireland, notably dairy imports which have risen significantly in recent years.

Nigerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, attended talks with Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney, who is on a trade mission with 45 Irish firms this week in west Africa.

“On agri-food trade, we discussed the growing trade in exports from Ireland to Nigeria particularly dairy which alone is worth €140m last year, up 50% since 2010.
