Munster and south Leinster to be worst hit by milk price fall
ICMSA deputy president Pat McCormack said year one of the post-quota era has been a severe ‘let-down’ .
“Anxiety among milk suppliers is compounded by the lack of coherent dairy policy on either the domestic or EU level,” he said.
The collapse in value of dairy output will be worst in dairy-intensive Munster and south Leinster.
ICMSA estimates that the fall in milk prices will result in a drop in overall spending of €111m in Tipperary alone.
