Teagasc: Better breeding can cushion hard times

Farmers will discuss the theme of ‘Applying Technologies to Sustain Profitability’ in Athlone, Co Westmeath, on October 13.

The conference, organised by Teagasc, will focus on technologies offering beef farmers the most profitable future.

Pearse Kelly, head of drystock knowledge transfer in Teagasc, said: “Given the volatile nature of markets, farmers need to focus on the levels of efficiency being achieved inside their own farm gate.

“Speakers at the conference will outline the practical steps that beef producers can implement on their own farms. The latest knowledge and information from the Teagasc research and demonstration farms will be available.”
