Pair of fine farms sure to draw big interest in Co Cork
“The big selling point for this property will be the quality of the land,” says selling agent Michael Drew of Boherbue.
“It would be regarded in the locality as supreme fertile ground.”
The farms are located across the road from one another in the townland of Barnacurra in a very convenient and accessible location about 5.5km from Newmarket and just off the main Newmarket-Ballydesmond road.
The probate sale is generating plenty of excitement, according to selling agent Michael Drew of Boherbue, with the attractive holding being presented in six separate lots.
“We have plenty of interest in the various lots,” says Mr Drew. “There’s very good access with a secondary public road running through the centre of both farms.”
The farms were owned by two brothers that were well known and regarded in the area and are being sold as non-residential units; the original houses having fallen into total dereliction.
The land has been used for dairying but was used for fattening cattle most recently and price expectations are quoted as being of €8,500 an acre.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see that selling figure climb higher on auction day at 2.30pm in the Hi-Land Centre in Newmarket.
