The residential holding can be sold in one or two lots. It is located about 3km from Blarney, and 11km from Cork.

In this age, good quality land with superb access and nearness to markets counts for an awful lot, so it’s no surprise to find that even though the asking price is at the upper end of the scale, there is still strong interest, according to selling agent David McCarthy of Lisney.

“There’s no shortage of interest locally,” he says, of this executor sale, without entitlements.

Lot 1 is 22.2 acres of the southernmost portion of the farm. “The land is laid out in six divisions,” says David, who notes that it slopes gently in a northerly direction, and is in good condition, except for a small portion in need of reclamation. There is also an ancient ringfort.

Lot 2 is the larger lot, with 47 acres. The holding enjoys extensive roadside access. There are several outbuildings, a derelict period house, and a modern 840-square-feet three-bedroom bungalow.

There is a constant natural water supply on both portions, and the land is currently used for grazing cattle.

The guide prices are €200,000 (€9,000 per acre) for Lot 1, and €650,000 (€13,800 per acre) for Lot 2.
