Macra Club of the Year title up for grabs
The aim of the competition is to recognise and reward the hard work and commitment of clubs and members.
Clubs are assessed on the planning and execution of their development strategy, involvement in the club’s local community, and the level of participation of club members in a variety of activities at club, county, and national level in all of the organisation’s programme areas.
Six clubs are selected to go forward to the national final, which will take place at this year’s Annual Conference, better known as The Rally, in Cork over the October bank holiday weekend.
Macra national president, Seán Finan, said: “Our members make a big impact on their clubs and local communities and we are recognising those efforts with the Club of the Year and Best New Member competitions.
"This competition is open to all Macra clubs and new members and I am urging them to enter.”
The Best New Member Award will be presented to one individual Macra member who is deemed by his or her club to have made a significant contribution to its development during their first year of membership.
The Best Emerging Club award has been designed to acknowledge the achievements of newly-established Macra clubs.
The 2015 winners will follow in the footsteps of Freemount Macra, Avondhu, Co Cork, who took the title last year at the Macra Rally in Portlaoise, Co Laois.
Application forms have been distributed to clubs who can submit their applications directly to the Macra national office.
The form can also be downloaded from the competition download section of www.macra.ie. The deadline for entries is tomorrow, Friday August 14.
