Top-class land on offer near Mallow

A residential dairy farm near Mallow consisting of “top-class land” has just been offered for sale with Ballinhassig-based auctioneer Christy Buckley.

The 62-acre property is adjacent to the village of Gortroe, 2km from Lombardstown and 10km from Mallow.

“The property is laid out in six divisions,” says Christy, “with each division having road frontage.” The main dwelling is a two-storey traditional-style farmhouse in good condition, with four bedrooms and central heating.

The outbuildings in the farmyard include two hay barns with lean-to, two slatted units, a garage, a workshop and other ancillary buildings.

Land that’s so easily divisible would typically be offered in lots but the farm is being offered as one, complying with the wishes of the previous owners in this executor sale.

Price expectations are in the region of €750,000 for the entire holding, representing an average per-acre price of €12,000 — a very attractive prospect considering the quality level of the land and the fact there is a substantial amount of bricks and mortar in the deal.

There are no entitlements coming with the property but interest is strong, according to the agent, with a good deal of queries locally, as well as some from the UK.
